Satya-Purush : Divine

Satya-Purush made many Lok where each Angshas he created can live peacefully . As a result, the name of few loks are – Agya Dweep, Lok Dweep , Pushpa Dweep and many more.

Among that 12 angshas – Niranjan was one of the most beloved angsha to Satya-Purush because he used to worship Satya-Purush a lot. Niranjan spent million and billion of years meditating and chanting Satya-Purush. After his billion years of contemplation and bhakti towards Satya-Purush. Satya-Purush was elated and gave him boon(Vardaan). The boon was – Niranjan can rule in three loks, that is Swarga Lok (Heaven), Narka Lok (Hell) and Dharti Lok (Earth).

Note : Niranjan also known as Kaal-Purush is a betrayer to the God.

Niranjan : Kaal-Purush

Niranjan was the fourth angsha created by god. He was a very cunning among other 15 angshas, also he wanted to make Satya-Purush happy, therefore he went into austerity (tapasya) for about billion years. He was in deep self mortification towards Satya-Purush. After seeing his devotion , Satya-Purush was elated and gave him boon to rule in three loks that is – Dharti, Swarga and Narka Lok (Earth, Heaven and Hell). Satya-Purush gave him Maansarovar Dweep to stay.

Niranjan was not still satisfied with these all. He betrayed Satya-Purush at the end and made the Earth full of sins. Here is the whole story on how the life on Earth started.

Creation of life on Earth : Niranjan’s betrayel

God gave permission to create life on Earth to Niranjan. Satya-Purush said in order to make the Earth habitable to living beings , he have to go to Kurma angsha and ask politely for the five elements which will help him to make the Earth suitable for living. The five elements (tatwa) were –

  • Water (Jal)
  • Fire (Agni)
  • Sky (Aakash)
  • Land (Prithvi)
  • Air (Vayu)

Niranjan was the worst angsha among others, he was filled with ego, jealousy and all the bad things that a devil posses. Indeed, he mercilessly scratched Kurma angsha with his sharp nails and cut Kurma’s stomach into two halves and got the five elements from Kurma’s body by which now he is able to make Earth a habitable planet with oceans, marine animals and other land animals. Now, Niranjan wanted to make the Earth full of living human beings.

Niranjan : Kaal-Purush

He again went into austerity (tapasya). Satya-Purush was too generous towards Niranjan and gave him one beautiful woman named Asthangi Devi. She was too beautiful and talented. Satya-Purush gave her order to go with Niranjan and create a beautiful life on Earth with the things he provided. When Asthangi Devi reached at Niranjan’s Maansarovar Dweep, he was very happy and shocked at the same time after seeing a beautiful creation by god. Eventually, his evil brain was too retarded that he swallowed Asthangi Devi as whole. Asthangi Devi cried the name of God for help, also Kurma angsha complaint about how Niranjan fought with him and took his five elements. Satya-Purush was furious after realizing Niranjan’s ridiculous behavior.

Satya-Purush cursed (Shraap) Niranjan. Niranjan had to kill 1 lakh living beings and create 1.25 lakh living beings everyday. Satya-Purush thought to erase the existence of Niranjan but he cannot do so because of the boon (Satya Bachan) he gave to Niranjan. If God tries to kill Niranjan than all other 15 angshas would also eventually vanishes because they were all connected with each other. Satya-Purush helped Asthangi Devi to escape from Niranjan’s stomach, also Niranjan was forced to leave his Maansarovar Dweep.

At the end, Asthangi Devi lived with Niranjan. They had two child – Eldest was Bramha, Middle one was Vishnu and Youngest was Shankar. They created life on Earth and ruled on three loks.

4 Khaani : Four types of living creature

On this planet, there are four types of living creature in sanskrit – chaar khaani. Those are :
